PRERANA AND YOU

  • Positions open at Prerana

Working in a sea of one billion people is an exciting challenge. Particularly in the development sector. But it could be equally frustrating because the sheer scale of inequities at times defeats the most herculean efforts. All successes are dwarfed and the work left to be done takes the satisfaction out of any sense of acheivement.

But this is all the more reason why the work should go on - because there is so much to be done.   Prerana believes that it's greatest work lies in enabling people to believe in themselves.

We need all the help we can get to strengthen our beliefs and those of the people we work with. You could help in the following ways:

  • Volunteer your services for the entire/part duration of a project. If you are a Doctor or Teacher or have skills which you feel may be useful you could also impart these services free of cost to communities we work with on a part time basis.

  • You could contribute in cash - towards the general fund of Prerana or towards a specific project or project module.

  • You could sponsor a participant in any of our programmes.

  • You could sponsor a project or a project module. All donations made to Prerana are exempt from Income tax under Section 80G.

  • If you are a student of social work and would like to particiapte in one of our projects, feel free to visit any of our project areas (or our office) and see what interests you. Prerana was born out of the efforts of professional social workers (then - right out of college) who wanted to apply what they had been taught in college and find out whether it worked in the real world. Twenty seven years hence, we've learnt that in most cases, it does work. But one needs to be innovative in application!

  • You could donate items such as writing/drawing instruments etc. to be used by participant in our workshops. You could donate books for our Library.
